Telekom Malaysia

Telekom Malaysia is a wonderful subject to discuss a word called " susah". Let's begin with Wan's phone bills.

The Figure

How will your react if your phone bill mysteriously increases eighfold? When that happened to me, I jumped. Then I filed a complain ( of courselah! ) impelled by...

"SUSAH!: a feeling of great dissatisfaction

The staff at Telekom Malaysia assured me that I do not have to pay the disputed amount pending investigation - which lasted 14 months. Meantime, I received recorded telephone messages every month threatening to disconnect my phone service. I had to visit Telekom office several times to stop those silly messages. Aduhai...

"SUSAH" : problem!

I don't know why it took so long to find out. Finally, they wrote me apologizing for the wrong figure RM281.32 and revised it to RM5.24!

I must say my susah is peanuts in comparison to another guy who was billed 218 trillion US dollars. I hope he will be able to dispute that bill, otherwise he will become very...

"SUSAH!" : poor.

Punished for Paying

Cross my heart, I pay my bills faithfully but paying Telekom Malaysia is very...

"SUSAH!" : difficult.

If I drive to Telekom Malaysia's office, it is virtually impossible to find a place reasonably nearby to park. so I have to get my honourable mother to look after the car. Yeap...wasting the time of two working women.

I don't mind taking a bus sometimes just to avoid the parking problem but I live in an area strangely with no bus services. If I stop at the nearest bus stop, I have to walk 45 minutes to reach home. How about taxi? The fare is RM15 one way and my phone bill is RM30.

How about other outlets? The nearest is Public Bank but 2 months ago they stopped collecting payment at the counters on behalf of Telekom Malaysia.

How about paying online? I managed to do that only once through debit card then Telekom Malaysia closed the door. Don't they make arragements with online banking? Yes, but the complex security procedures drive me crazy. On top of that, Telekom Malaysia bills me separately on different dates for my phone and internet service, that means I have to go out twice monthly to waste half of my working day...just to pay Telekom's bills.

"MENYUSAHKAN SAYA!" : troubling me.

Troubleshooting

I have to pray hard that I don't have problems with my internet service. In fact, it happened twice within a year that my internet services didn't work at all- the first time it lasted two weeks and the second time, one month.

" Hey Wan, why didn't you do something about it?" you might ask.

This is what I did: Telekom Malaysia's staff gave me a number to contact their local Streamyx staff. I dialed the number and was referred to a toll-free number. I dialed that toll-free number and was connected to a technician who told me that I have to do my own troubleshooting under his instruction

(" Oh God help me...I am a technology idiot")

Anyway, I took a deep breathe and listened. After struggling 20 minutes in vain locating a "box". I gave up. I begged him to send someone and bill me later. To this, he answered he could not comply.

"BERSUSAH hatilah saya" : I feel sooooo sad.

So I had to call the local Streamyx office again to relate the toll-free dialogue. Only then they agreed to send a friendly little technician who fixed the problem within...minutes!

"MENYUSAHKAN saya!" : makes life difficult for me.

P.S. Of courselah...I demanded a rebate!

SUPER CEO

Yeap...Telekom Malaysia has the best CEO in Malaysia Abdul Wahid Omar. Even though a Malaysian myself, I doubted the Malaysian standard of rating CEOs because whenever my router starts to blink in a peculiar manner, I would shudder at the thought of having to deal with Telekom Malaysia again.

" Saya tak mahu BERSUSAH PAYAH lagi!" : I don't want to do it the hard way again.
