Air pasang High tide.

Empat buah rumah roboh dan beberapa lagi hampir musnah dipukul ombak besar berikutan air pasang besar serta angin kencang.

Ayahnya dipanggil pulang ke alam barzakh tahun lepas.
His father was called back to the world of death last year.( The English equivalent of returning to the Lord, or pass away)


Alam fana World that is not lasting; transitory. Referring to our life on earth.

Si mati berada di alam barzakh dan tidak akan kembali ke alam fana ini lagi.
The deceased is in the world of the dead and will not return to this transitory world again.


Alas cakap You need to use a base to put a hot pot on a table. Similarly you need to lay a foundation before going into the main topic of your talk.

Guru itu mahir menggunakan alas cakap untuk memperkenalkan pelajaran yang rumit.
The teacher is good at laying the foundation to introduce a complex lesson.


Alas kata Same as alas cakap.


Alas perut You eat a little to line the stomach. That would be snacks or appetizers.

Kami makan sedikit kurma sebagai alas perut untuk membuka puasa.

Alim kucing Berkucing-kucing is a child's game but when two adults of opposite sex play this game, it becomes an immoral relationship. Probably from berkucing-kucing, it is not possible for a cat to be pious.

Si Alim kucing ialah jenis politikus yang menebang sepohon pokok redwood, lepas itu berdiri di atas tunggulnya untuk menyampaikan ceramah tentang pemuliharaan.
