The Malaysian People V.I.P. Protocol

I am a Malaysian people hardly notice. A day before I wrote this web page, a security guard shooed my car from parking beside the library. He pointed to the busy construction on top of the library and said something might drop on my car. However, a shiny Mercedes belonging to his boss remained. Our difference? I am a "yang ini" whereas the Mercedes owner could be a "Yang Berhormat", popularly known as YB.

"Yang" written in upper case is the article for honourary titles in Malaysia. There are so many of them that I bet many Malaysians do not know all, including me. For the sake of studying "Yang" as a title, here are some examples.

7.Yang DipertuaThe leader
8.Yang diPertuan-
9.Yang di-Pertuan AgongHis Majesty the King
