In Bahasa Malaysia Scarecrow ( orang-orang ) is a puppet that scares away birds in the paddy field. The word orang means human. When orang is duplicated as orang-orang, apart from scarecrow, it also means more than one person.
I have prepared some sentence practice. Read and try to differentiate the humans and non-humans
People put scarecrow in the paddy field.
The village peope see the scarecrow in the paddy field.
A boy brings puppet to the paddy field.
The boy puts his puppet on the hand of the scarecrow.
Now, the scarecrow can chat with the puppet.
"Hi, puppet, I am also a puppet."
"We ugly scarecrows live peacefully in the paddy field."
"The people of the city mistreat effigies."
"The people of the city burn effigies while having a demonstration."
"I agree with (you) friend scarecrow," says the little puppet.
